This article. The investigation is so heartbreaking and maddening. And yet somehow the two Daily podcasts on this were even more devastating. The details in there--and hearing the voice of Basim--was just overwhelming. 

Also shocking was the revelation that there was this affluent secularized upper middle class that must've been in Northern Iraq for a long time throughout the Hussein regime. Embarrassingly, I'd never heard anything about it. The news one receives about this region is always much more two-dimensional than the reality.
